Iconic rocker Jimmy Barnes has confirmed he has connected with a long lost child.

Barnes says he discovered his daughter Katy Lee Carroll about five years ago, and she has been welcomed her into the extended family.

“Christmas is all about family and we would like to introduce my daughter Katy Lee, who has been in our lives for the past five years,” Barnes said in a statement on social media.

“Katy is a wonderful woman and since discovering that I was her biological father, our family and extended family have loved getting to know her. It’s been heartwarming to see good relationships growing with her sisters and brothers.

“We have always respected her very strong desire to keep her family life private and will continue to support her.

Other members of the family replied to Barnes’ post.

“Go Katy, we all love you,” wrote Barnes’ wife Jane, while his daughter Jackie shared three love heart emojis.

The rocker learned of two daughters, Amanda Bennett and Megan Torzyn, in 2010.

Barnes earlier this year experienced the moment most fathers cherish — walking his beloved daughter down the aisle.

Just months after undergoing open-heart surgery, the Khe Sanh singer in March shared photos from his daughter Eliza-Jane’s special day.

Eliza-Jane wed her longtime partner Jimmy Metherell at Bendooley’s Estate in the Southern Highlands on February 28.

Their son Teddy, 2, was the ring-bearer during the ceremony.

“Teddy’s parents got married. We sang together as I walked EJ down the aisle to give her away, and nothing could have made me more proud,” Barnes wrote in an Instagram post.

“EJ sang her vows in a love song she wrote for her Jim.

“Jim joined our family and we joined the Metherell clan.

“What more could a man wish for than the blessing of all these extraordinary loved ones around me. And this wee guy of course.”

Cold Chisel frontman Barnes had emergency surgery in Sydney in last December after revealing a bacterial infection he’d been fighting had spread to his heart.

The surgery was to replace a damaged valve and resulted in a tough few months of recovery.

On March 17, Barnes said he had completed his rehab goal of swimming 1km.

“I wasn’t up to that prior to heart surgery and today it’s done. Great to have my @jane13barnes’ encouragement and support. I’ll be heading home soon … stage-ready,” he said.
