Producers of smash hit production TINA – The Tina Turner Musical have announced their children’s casting callout for when the show heads to Crown Theatre Perth in February 2024.

Based on the life of late music icon Tina Turner, the musical is a comeback story like no other, celebrating resilience and triumph over adversity as a woman who dared to defy the bounds of age, gender and race became the global Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Young performers with an interest in acting and strong singing voice are invited to audition for the roles of Anna Mae Bullock (Young Tina Turner), Young Alline Bullock (Tina’s sister) and Young Craig (Tina’s son).

“This is a fantastic opportunity for young performers who can play Black American children, with or without stage experience, to reach out to us and audition,” casting director Matt Bebbington said.

“The musical tells the story of music icon Tina Turner from her humble beginnings in Nutbush and as such we are looking for young and talented performers to play the role of Tina in her formative years, Tina’s sister, and later in the story, Tina’s son.”

TINA – The Tina Turner Musical premiered at Theatre Royal Sydney in May 2023 and features 23 hit songs including Simply The Best, What’s Love Got To Do With It, Nutbush City Limits and Proud Mary.

A complete casting brief for these roles is at tinathemusical.com.au/casting.

Submission deadline is at 11.59pm, November 26 and the musical begins previews at Crown Theatre Perth from February 27, 2024.
