It wouldn’t be a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show without iconic wings and models but can the controversial event win over fans again with a fresh relaunch after it was cancelled several years ago.

The show returned to New York City on Wednesday after the runway was shut down in 2019 amid criticism over a lack of diversity and relevance in an evolving fashion landscape.

In the lead-up to the show, announced in May, Victoria’s Secret promised to bring back the “glamour, wings, fashion and musical entertainment our customers know and love—with our values and brand mission of today at the forefront.”

And it seems they delivered that modern promise while also combining the nostalgia of the old runways and OG Angels including Gigi Hadid, Tyra Banks, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima—who holds the record for the most walked VS shows.

Kate Moss was also there and her daughter Lila made her catwalk debut.

Hadid’s younger sister Bella Hadid made a show-stopping appearance just months after she announced she’d be taking a break from modelling.

“After 10 years of modelling, I realised I was putting so much energy and love and effort into something that, in the long run, wasn’t necessarily giving it back to me,” she told Allure in April.

Looking to the musical entertainment of the night, Blackpink star Lisa opened the night, followed by an angel-winged Tyla and headline act Cher.
