The 2024 Southern Art and Craft Trail is once again landing in the Great Southern with 74 exhibitions showcasing the artistic talent of 500 local artists.

Now in its 21st year the trail extends from Walpole to Bremer Bay, to Katanning and Newdegate.

A total of 17 exhibits will showcase young art talent at primary schools around the Great Southern.

First-time trail artist Louise Stewart Brown will welcome the community into her colourful and vibrant home filled with bold works of the ocean environment, crochet projects, silk painted scarves and weaving.

A recent addition to the Albany community from Esperance, Stewart Brown is delighted to take part in the annual art trail and present her vivid ocean-inspired scenes.

“To have the opportunity to be involved in the art trail is fabulous for me,” she said.

“I’m pretty chuffed to be part of it.”

The trail is supported by the State Government’s Regional Arts Sector Investment Program and the Regional Events Scheme and will give the community and tourists the opportunity to appreciate local artwork.

The Southern Art and Craft Trail will run from September 21 to October 6.
