An early Christmas gift for charity

The annual Christmas Bonanza to raise money for Variety attracted a good crowd as people made an early start to their Christmas shopping at what organisers described as a “pop up department store”.

Emma Howell from It’s All Sorted said the annual event was in its third year but this was the first time it was held at the Geraldton Regional Community Education Centre in Gregory Street.

Miss Howell said it was exciting to see so many people browsing the stalls. “We wanted to give people the chance to do their Christmas shopping locally,” she said.

“It’s a great day out and a fun place to buy gifts.”

The event has raised about $4000 for Variety in previous years and Miss Howell said she hoped a lower entry fee this year would attract more patrons and raise more money.
