Geraldton artist Jordan Andreotta’s work has gone international, having recently featured in an exhibition at a London gallery.

A series of pencil drawings described as “illustrative and surrealistic” were featured at the Art in Mind exhibition at the Brick Lane Gallery.

His work was also showcased at the Futures Exhibition in Perth last week and will feature in the A Dot on the Run exhibition in Port Hedland in mid-February.

The self-taught artist is involved in the street art scene and has artwork on display in laneways around the city.

He has also been commissioned by the City of Greater Geraldton for various art projects.

He specialises in a number of mediums including painting, drawing, digital, and mural art, and his inspiration comes from everyday life.

“Something spontaneous and random, which evokes emotion, is what inspires me,” he said.

Social media has played a major role in exposing his work to a national and international audience, and led to his association with Channel Seven’s House Rules.

Mr Andreotta was asked to design a mural wall for a child’s bedroom in the 2015 season when it was filmed in Geraldton.

His other passion is teaching his students at Nagle Catholic College, where he has been a resident art teacher for the past six years.

“Seeing the students inspired to do something, and to push and surprise themselves to see what they are capable of, is inspiring in itself,” he said.

He hopes to get the students involved in several community art projects in 2016.
