A good Samaritan saved the day when Andrew Kilpatrick’s suitcase fell off the back of his ute with the engagement ring he intended on giving to his future wife hidden inside.

Andrew and Tahlia were travelling between Cape Leveque and Broome last year, on their way to Darwin, when they realised all their luggage had been lost on an outback WA road.

Luckily a passing motorist spotted one of the bags on the Cape Leveque Road and handed it into the nearest police station, and made contact with Andrew and Tahlia via Facebook.

The one and only bag returned to the couple was the bag containing the engagement ring and Andrew got down on one knee on Cable Beach and proposed.

They were married in a beautiful ceremony at Nukara Farm on October 31.

The couple’s 106 guests travelled from across the country to be there for their special day and were treated to the culinary delights of the Burnt Barrel.

The ceremony was ‘unplugged’ so their guests were with them in the moment.

Both Tahlia and Andrew grew up playing polocrosse and had their horses with them at their wedding.
