Call for witnesses to Geraldton assault

Geraldton police are calling for witnesses after a serious assault yesterday.

The incident happened about 7pm near the corner of Fifth Street and Central Road, not far from Wonthella IGA.

Police allege a female was assaulted by another female, causing serious injuries, before bystanders stepped in to help the victim.

The female suspect allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police would like to talk to witnesses who intervened or bystanders who may have observed anything that could assist with investigations.
