Twenty cattle have been put down after a truck rollover 20km north of Cue.

Sergeant Alan Capstick of Cue Police said the 58-year-old driver lost control on a damp roadside verge in wet conditions about 12.30pm.

He was taken to the Cue Nursing Post with minor injuries.

Sgt Capstick said a large number of cattle fled into surrounding bushland after the accident, and it would take several days to round them up.

It took four hours to clear the accident scene.
