A lucky local resident has scored a $10,000 cheque from the One Stop Electronics annual prize draw.

This is the second time in the prize’s three-year history the Geraldton store, out of 95 stores in the nation, has had the winning customer.

Franchisee Sue Svensson said when the group manager called to tell her their store had the winner again she told him “no, you’re joking”.

“I had kept telling people, oh you better enter you might win, someone from here won a couple years ago — and they would say ‘oh, well all the luck’s run out then’,” she said.

“What can I say? We’re just special.”

Prize winner Anita Fitzsimons joked about taking a few more trips to Bali, but said the money was mostly going to pay off her credit card.

“I’ve never had an empty credit card before in my life,” she said.

“And I don’t know that it will stay that way all too long, I’m a bit of a shopaholic.”

But Ms Fitzsimons also said some of the money would go to caring for her foster dogs, as she is the vice-president of Geraldton Dog Rescue.

“I’ve not really won anything like this before, maybe a little bit at Lotto once 25 years ago, but nothing so large.”
