Police were forced to use capsicum spray to quell a disturbance outside Geraldton Courthouse on Friday.

Police said about 40 people had gathered outside about 11.30am when a fight broke out among several people in the group.

It took police about 10 minutes to break up the fighting and disperse the crowd.

Two Perth men and four Geraldton men were arrested and fined $500.

They were also charged with six counts of disorderly behaviour.
