One lucky Australian is $22m richer after taking out the entire jackpot on Thursday night, with officials on Friday revealing the winner’s wild reaction to discovering they won.

Officials confirmed the ticket was sold online, meaning it was a registered ticket and that the lottery company had the winner’s details.

The winning ticket was sold to a person registered in New South Wales.

Officials called the winner on Friday morning who discovered they won whilst at work sitting next to her colleagues.

The winner, a woman from St Clair, NSW, was so excited she began jumping up and down with excitement in the office.

Overwhelmed with joy, the woman in her 30s told her colleagues she had won the massive jackpot.

The winner plans on buying a house, setting her family up and travelling.

The division one winner is set to receive an eye-watering $22,207,849.

Five ticket holders across Australia have also won the division two prize, each set to take home $108,768.

The winning numbers for this week’s Powerball were: 32, 12, 4, 9, 10, 24, 7, and the Powerball number was 15.

Aussies win big

The massive win comes after a string of Australians have won big in recent weeks.

In August, a Queensland woman won $100 million in a lotto jackpot, but almost lost it all.

The winner revealed she almost lost the winning ticket.

The Aspley woman told The Lott that she bought the ticket recently because her birthday was coming up.

“I was shopping the other day, and it’s coming up to my birthday, so I thought ‘Why not?’ and purchased a Powerball ticket.

“The funny thing is too, I almost lost it! I had to pull over on the way home from the shops because I thought I had left it there.

“After that, I put it in my glovebox, and I completely forgot about it.”

“I’m scared to breathe in case this isn’t real. We’re in complete shock.”

The Queensland mum, who bought the winning ticket at Nextra Chermside Newsagency in Brisbane, said she had a feeling she was going to win a major lottery prize at the start of the year.

“At the start of the year, I had a really strange feeling I was going to win a major lottery prize,” she said.

“I told my parents about it, they said, ‘Don’t be crazy’, but I just had this strong feeling.”

Eight Australians also had their lives changed after winning more than $660,000 in Saturday night’s division one Lotto draw.

The eight winners of Lotto draw 4503 included three in Queensland, two each in South Australia and Victoria, and one in New South Wales. They each pocketed $660,110.33.
