Scholarship recipients named
Find us on FacebookThe Mid West Academy of Sport has released its list of coaches, athletes and officials who have received 2015 scholarships.
The number of athletes this year, 16, is the same as last year, while 21 coaches and two officials, up from last year’s one, have also been offered scholarships.
Swimming official Nick Short has retained his scholarship from last year, while Nadine Eva from netball has obtained one for 2015.
Jane Cooper will be a senior athlete and also occupy an ambassador role throughout the year, lending assistance and experience to younger athletes.
She is preparing for the 2015 polocrosse World Cup, where she will captain Australia.
CEO Chris Darlington said the academy planned to serve a small number of athletes and coaches in the Gascoyne area if there was sufficient demand.

Kasey Ryan-Duffy, Lexie Stoner, Nickeisha Hodder, Alex Ducas, Emma Burke, Phoebe Vlahov, Mikaila Watson, Jonty Calder, Jane Cooper, Tara Chown, Luke Puglia, Jack Osborn, Zoe Rowcroft, Jai Gimenez and Levi Caeger. Daniel Puglia may join mid-year after temporarily living in Victoria for polocrosse competitions.
