Port Geographe channels reading creativity in annual read-a-thon
Students showed their creative flare last month when they took part in a fortnight-long Readathon at a local primary school.
Organised by the Parents and Citizens group at Geographe Primary School, the event allowed students to immerse themselves in literature by reading for at least 15 minutes every day.
School principal Gregory Clarke said the event had been a great success.
“It has been great seeing staff and students getting excited about their reading,” he said.
Taking place alongside the school’s Book Fair and Book Parade, the event was made more special when students dressed as their favourite book characters.
Mr Clarke said a highlight was staff sharing with students their favourite books from when they were in primary school.
