Monique Ransfield: Violent home invasion accused on the run after cutting off electronic monitoring device

Detectives are hunting a dangerous fugitive after she cut off her electronic monitoring device and fled. Monique Ransfield, 28, is before the courts over an alleged violent home invasion last year and was serving a home detention order when she removed the device on January 8. Police were alerted to the device tampering but when officers arrived at her address Ms Ransfield was nowhere to be found. She has been on the run for almost a month and failed to appear in court on Wednesday, prompting authorities to issue a warrant for her arrest. Detectives from the Rapid Apprehension Squad are urgently seeking any information relating to her whereabouts. Ms Ransfield is described as being 175cm tall, of slim build, with black hair, and brown eyes. She is known to frequent the areas of Armadale, Fremantle, and Hamilton Hill and is possibly using public transport to get around. Ms Ransfield allegedly partook in a terrifying home invasion on May 4 last year, where she allegedly brandished a knife and forced her way inside a Thornlie home in broad daylight. Two men allegedly followed, one of them allegedly armed with what’s believed to be a pick-axe. A paraplegic man in his 40s and a woman in her 50s who were home at the time were allegedly viciously assaulted by the trio. The man had his throat cut and was knocked out of his wheelchair during the scuffle, while the woman suffered a fractured arm in the brazen alleged attack. Police believe the incident was related to a Facebook Marketplace sale gone wrong. Members of the public are advised not to approach Ms Ransfield if they see her and to call police immediately on 131 444.
