Dinosaur replica goes on sale for $58k in Melbourne
There’s many surprising things that can be found on Facebook Marketplace, but it’s not every day a replica “Titanosaruas” goes on sale.
Victorian man Mark Jacobsen is willing to part ways with his 19m-long, 4m-high dinosaur, known as an Australotitan Cooperensis, for $58,000.
Posting on social media, Mr Jacobsen has a number of life-size dinosaurs up for sale, but this giant beast is the one that’s really turning heads.
He said in his post that this “authentic scale design is first class and is a unique opportunity (to) add this dinosaur” to any enthusiast’s collection.
Mr Jacobsen said only three had been released in Australia to date, with one expected to soon be on display at the National Dinosaur Museum in Canberra and the others based in the Melbourne suburb of Langwarrin.
“Australotitan Cooperensis is the signature member of the family of dinosaurs known as Titanosaurus, which were the last sauropods to roam the earth before the K/T Extinction 65 million years ago,” Mr Jacobsen said in the post.
The model comes in seven pieces and can be delivered Australia wide, but an “extra fee applies” to have the beast installed.
