Carnarvon police have seized nearly one kilogram of cannabis during a traffic stop on North West Coastal Highway overnight.

Police stopped a 50-year-old Three Springs man before a search of his vehicle allegedly revealed about 900g of the substance in individual zip-lock bags.

Police allege the man was taking the cannabis to Port Hedland where he planned to sell it.

He has been charged with possession with intent to sell/supply.

He is due to appear in Carnarvon Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
