A foreshore fireworks display will again be the finale for Geraldton’s Australia Day celebrations later this month.

While the full 2025 Australia Day program of events for Geraldton and Mullewa has yet to be revealed, fireworks have been confirmed thanks to vehicle rental company Europcar WA renewing its sponsorship.

City of Greater Geraldton mayor Jerry Clune said he was excited to see the fireworks show as a culmination of a full day of “inclusive and respectful” Australia Day events on Sunday, January 26.

“Fireworks are always a hit, and we are deeply appreciative of Europcar WA for supporting this part of the event for the fourth year in a row,” he said.

“We anticipate another respectful occasion on the Geraldton Foreshore as the community comes together this Australia Day.”

Europcar WA Geraldton branch manager Kerry Speed said the company was thrilled to be part of Australia Day festivities once again in 2025.

“Fireworks are a big part of Australia Day and we hope the display will be enjoyed by many Geraldton locals and visitors,” she said.

“We hope this year’s display is full of fun and joy for children, families and anyone heading down to watch.”

The fireworks show is scheduled to start at 8.30pm but may change due to weather conditions. Updates will be provided, if necessary, on the city’s Facebook page.
