Bail conditions changed to allow man accused over alleged Geraldton drug scheme to live with co-accused

A Geraldton court has granted a man accused of being part of a drug trafficking scheme permission to live with his co-accused and partner. Joshua Raymond Delacey appeared in Geraldton Magistrates Court on Thursday for legal advice on one charge of possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply. The 20-year-old did not enter a plea for the charge as his lawyer awaits body camera footage. Mr Delacey’s lawyer sought to vary his bail address so he could reside at his girlfriend’s house. The court was told his partner and co-accused, Khyteesha Shai Anne Cross, had been living with her younger sisters and wanted a male in the house. Police prosecutors Paul Burkinshaw and Ross Gray said they had no issues with the bail amendments. Magistrate Angus Hockton agreed and granted Mr Delacey the varied bail conditions, but said pleas were to be entered at the next court appearance. A $5000 bail has been set, while a surety of $2000 will remain in place. Under the terms of his bail conditions Mr Delacey has to report to Geraldton police station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and is subject to a 9pm to 6am curfew. Mr Delacey is also not to contact co-accused James Brockman. The matter has been adjourned to August 25.
