Biggest aircraft to land at Geraldton Airport touches down for Royal Air Force A330 training exercise

Geraldton Airport has celebrated a new record, welcoming the biggest aircraft to ever land at the airport. The Royal Australian Air Force aircraft A330 touched down at Geraldton Airport on Thursday for a training exercise. The previous largest aircraft to land at the airport was the Royal Australian Air Force’s C17, which came in 2021 and assisted in the aftermath of Cyclone Seroja. Geraldton Airport often hosts RAAF planes when they are in the area. The A330 is made by Airbus and is understood to be able to carry up to 34,000kg of cargo. It 58.80m long and 17.4m high. The wingspan of the plane is 60.3m and it can reach speeds of up to 880km/h.
