Boys arrested over alleged burglaries
Geraldton police arrested four teenage boys over the weekend in relation to a number of alleged burglaries in the Utakarra area.
Police arrested the boys about 4pm on Sunday, just 10 minutes after a nearby burglary in which various items were stolen from a home.
A 13-year-old Rangeway boy, a 14-year-old Mahomets Flats boy, and a 16-year-old Wandina boy were each charged with one count of burglary and one count of stealing/
A 13-year-old Karloo boy was charged with one count of receiving stolen items.
They will face Geraldton Children’s Court at a later date.
Police said a further four juveniles were assisting with inquiries.
The arrests come following a recent spike in burglaries around Geraldton.
Geraldton police are urging residents to lock doors and windows, keep valuables out of sight, and report any suspicious behaviour to police on 9923 4555 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
