City of Greater Geraldton councillors will consider awarding a contract for construction works to subdivide a lot in Cape Burney when they meet today.

The Cape Burney development project, started by the former Shire of Greenough in 2005, will see a portion of Lot 200 Greenough River Road subdivided into 23 residential lots.

The City has set aside $1.56 million in the 2018-19 budget for the construction phase of the project.

The contractor will construct roads, drainage and sewerage infrastructure and install water and electricity services.

Council notes suggest the subdivision will provide an immediate financial return to the City.

The City has already raised about $1.24 million in revenue from leaseholders, which will go towards the design, construction and development of the project.
