Chapman Valley Country Music Festival: More than 350 patrons enjoy three days of music from talented artists

It was a fun-filled three days of country music in the Mid West last weekend with a record-breaking turnout at the Chapman Valley Country Music Festival. The music festival was held from October 18 to 20 and had more than 350 attendees, almost doubling the crowd numbers at previous years. Crowds spent the weekend dancing, camping and enjoying more than a dozen country music performers. Friday night got under way with an opening ceremony and walk-ups to warm up the crowd, before emerging artists took to the stage. Judges awarded Darren Gillis as the emerging artist competition winner, receiving a golden guitar created by metal craftsman William Pike. Coyote Loco, Rogue Pony and Red Ochre saw the night out with foot-stomping and toe-tapping entertainment, according to attendee Bernie Gorringe. On Saturday and Sunday, local and travelling artists performed, leaving the crowd pencilling in dates for next year’s event. The CVCMF committee thanked all patrons, artists, volunteers and crew members for their support in bringing the festival to life.
