Chris Hemsworth and Geraldton schoolboy Amon Holland hang out during school holidays for Starlight wish
A Geraldton schoolboy had the school holiday experience of a lifetime when he met his superhero, Chris Hemsworth, at the superstar’s Byron Bay home.
Amon Holland, a Champion Bay Senior High School student, is a massive Marvel super fan, and the Starlight Foundation was able to grant his wish of meeting the Thor actor.
In a post to his Instagram account, Hemsworth called Amon “one of Marvel’s best and most knowledgeable fans on the globe”. The heartwarming post has received 1.924 million likes and more than 4600 comments.
“Meet my good mate, Amon,” Hemsworth, who has 58.5 million followers, posted.
“The love and kindness that radiates from this young man is beyond inspirational, and it’s been an absolute gift getting to know him and his family . . . can’t wait for our next hang, Amon.”
Champion Bay SHS shared the post and wrote: “We are so blessed to have Amon at our school. His spirit is magic and healing to everyone he meets.
“Amon has the biggest sense of humour and brings laughter wherever he goes.”
During the special meeting that would beat any other school holiday tale, Amon was able to hold Thor’s hammer and Mjolnir and play with Hemsworth’s pet snake, as well as take a swim with the celebrity in his infinity pool.
It’s believed that Hemsworth’s children also got to meet and spend some quality time with the Hollands from Geraldton.
Amon’s dad, Mick Holland, made a comment on Hemsworth’s Instagram post, thanking the Hollywood heavyweight for his hospitality.
“You were so generous with your time and so welcoming to my family. It will be something they will always remember. They also haven’t stopped talking about how amazing your kids are,” he posted.
Amon’s older brother, Isaac, commented on the post. “Amon is still shaking; thanks so much, Chris.”
