Musicians from across the Mid West are invited to test their skills against the best, when the City of Greater Geraldton hosts its annual Battle of the Bands later this year.

The event provides an opportunity for budding artists to showcase their talents on stage.

Battle of the Bands has become a staple of the city’s calendar, with previous winners including alternative rock band Xhalisse, and heavy metal group Monitum.

Meanwhile, Psychedelic Foot Fungus was a back-to-back winner of the youth band award over the past couple of years.

Mayor Jerry Clune hoped to see more groups sign up to the event.

“Battle of the Bands always lives up to the hype, and I love to see our highly talented local musos battle it out on stage,” he said.

Once again this year, there will be cash prizes up for grabs across a variety of categories including best original song and best band under 25 years of age.”
