Driver in Wonthella allegedly tests positive to amphetamines

Geraldton police were kept busy over the weekend, seizing amphetamines and cannabis in several incidents.

A 29-year-old Geraldton man was charged after officers allegedly found around two grams of cannabis and a smoking implement when they searched his Mazda in Rangeway about 11pm on Saturday.

He is facing charges of possessing of a prohibited drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Soon after, officers stopped a Holden sedan allegedly being driven erratically in Wonthella about 11.40pm.

The 50-year-old male driver from Port Hedland allegedly tested positive to amphetamines.

Officers then allegedly found about one gram of cannabis and just over 2.4 grams of amphetamines after searching the man’s car.

The man may be charged pending the analysis of a drug test.

Finally, a 17-year-old boy from Utakarra was allegedly found in possession of about a gram of cannabis early this morning.

Officers searched the youth after they found him wandering in Rangeway soon after midnight.

He may face a charge of possession of a prohibited drug.
