Fashionable fundraiser a hit

Despite the wintry conditions, there was plenty of warmth among those who gathered recently for an evening of fashion and entertainment.

Staff from Hotlocs Hair Body and Soul turned the Beachlands salon into a catwalk which hosted models wearing the latest fashions from Fiori, Hazard Clothing and Shoes and Corner Surf Shop.

Latia Robinson, Jesse Muir and Eloise Kirk entertained the crowd of around 80 with music.

Local businesses contributed goods and services to the event which helped to raise funds for Mid West Charity Begins At Home.

Special guest Bianca Forrester told those gathered how humbled her family was to have been the recipient of a generous donation from the local charity when her son Eli was very ill.

“It’s a very important charity that gives directly back to the community,” Ms Forrester said.

The Geraldton charity aims to create hope and offer financial relief for residents of the Mid West residents who are in need due to serious illness.

It was named not-for-profit organisation of the year at this year’s Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Excellence awards.
