Nestled within the Queens IGA supermarket, Lunchbox@79 is a hidden gem that caters to both the casual shopper and the lotto ticket aficionado, conveniently located right in the heart of the action. It might not boast extravagant decor or an extensive menu, but this unassuming cafe features friendly staff, ample seating, and a delightful selection of coffee, hot food, and bagels that more than make up for the lack of frills. My friend and I recently visited Lunchbox@79 for a quick caffeine fix and a bite to eat. We ordered two cappuccinos, and a bagel each to accompany our brews. I opted for the ham and cheese bagel, while my friend went with salami and cheese. To our delight, despite some initial hesitation, both the coffees and bagels exceeded our expectations. The cappuccinos were a pleasant surprise — they arrived promptly and were wonderfully mellow and smooth, providing the perfect pick-me-up while navigating the supermarket aisles. While it may not be the absolute best coffee in Geraldton, it certainly ranks among my top five. The bagels, though slightly rough and ready in appearance, were a treat. They struck the ideal balance between being soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. What’s more, they were generously packed with filling, making each bite a truly satisfying experience. Admittedly, we wished they had been freshly toasted, but that was a minor quibble in the grand scheme of things. Lunchbox@79 proved to be the ideal pit stop for a quick refuel before or after a shopping session. Whether you need a caffeine boost or a substantial breakfast or lunch option, this unpretentious cafe has you covered. It’s convenient location makes it an excellent choice for those on the go. Would I recommend it? Most certainly, I do.
