Trades took on league leaders Olympians in Monday night’s division one men’s basketball hoping to secure their first win of the season, but the challenge proved too much.

Max De San Miguel lead the scoring duties for Trades with 21 points, with teammate Jake Baker following up with 18.

But it was Olympians’ Liam Bennett leading the way with an impressive 35-point haul.

In the end, Trades remain winless for the season, going down 107-89.

After nine rounds, Olympians sit on top of the ladder on equal points with Chapman Valley, but second on percentage.

The in-form Chapman Valley faced off against Stateside on Tuesday night.

Stateside were hoping to take it up to the Valley, with Johny Narkle and Tyrone Papertalk Jr chipping in 22 and 21 points respectively.

But it was an all round team effort from Chapman Valley that took the game away from Stateside.

Scoring was led by Aaron Ralph with 26 points, with Chapman Valley winning 100 - 75.

Wednesday night’s fixture featured a middle-of-the-table clash between Pumas and Hawks.

Pumas’ William Galvin and Jarrod Mongoo scored 24 points a piece, while Ryan Blanchett from Hawks provided his side with a solid 25 points. But it was not enough to get his side over the line, with Pumas victorious 99 - 77.

In women’s division one, Trades took on Olympians on Monday night and defeated them 58-50. Trades’ Mikala Van Niftrik and Holly Banes chalked up 15 and 14 points respectively, while for Olympians scoring was led by Gemma Dix (20 points) and Sharn Anderson (19 points).

On Tuesday night, Stateside scored a big result over Chapman Valley. Led by Abbie McDonald with 23 points, Stateside got over the top of Chapman Valley 61-33.

Stateside sit second on the ladder with a 5-2 record, while Pumas remain undefeated.
