A Geraldton mother says her four-wheel-drive was one of more than 30 vehicles spray-painted when vandals went on a rampage through Karloo on Tuesday night.

Jayde Ermstrang and her husband were watching their daughter sing in a choir performance at Sun City Christian Centre when the vandals struck, defacing the car with depictions of male genitalia.

She had parked her Mitsubishi Pajero on Assen Street at the time because the centre carpark was full.

Her husband was the first to notice the damage just after 8pm.

“I was absolutely ropeable and sad at the same time,” Mrs Ermstrong said.

“I was gutted and ready to tan a few hides.

“There was at least 30 cars that got sprayed – it was massive. They got the whole line of cars (on Assen Street). Basically any light or silver coloured car got tagged.”

Similar graffiti has been seen in other locations around Geraldton in recent weeks, including at the Old Gaol on Chapman Road.

Geraldton police were unavailable for comment.
