A Geraldton farmer has struck it rich, winning $1 million in last week’s Lotto draw.

The 30-year-old who doubles as a FIFO mine worker was one of two division 1 winners.

He told Lotterywest he planned to share his winnings with his parents.

“Mum and Dad have been doing it pretty tough for a while so to be able to share the win with them means the world to me,” he said.

The man said he grew up on a wheat and sheep farm and had always dreamt of owning his own farm.

“I got a gig as a FIFO worker so I could start saving for a property,” he said.

He said he was at the airport waiting to fly out for a two-week roster when he thought he’d buy a Lotto ticket.

“I started daydreaming about what it would be like to be a millionaire so thought I’d try my luck,” he said.

“I still can’t believe that the stars aligned.”
