Geraldton man Glen David Gorman to face trial over copper cable theft allegations from Mumbida Wind Farm

A Geraldton man has faced court accused of trespassing on a wind farm and stealing thousands of dollars worth of copper cable. Glen David Gorman pleaded guilty in Geraldton Magistrates Court on Thursday to one count of gaining benefit by fraud in Webberton on August 9 and another count of the same charge in Narngulu on August 12. He pleaded not guilty to four counts of trespassing in Walkaway between August 4 and 18, four counts of stealing, and two counts of gaining benefit by fraud. It was alleged Mr Gorman trespassed on the Mumbida Wind Farm, 40km south-east of Geraldton, four times and stole more than $30,000 worth of property, some of which he went on to sell. He is due to reappear in Geraldton Magistrates Court for a trial allocation date on November 1.
