Geraldton netball round 14: Pumas and Aztecs get up as season tightens

The Pumas and Aztecs enjoyed the riches during the penultimate round of the Geraldton netball season on Tuesday.

As the race to finals heats up, the senior one competition saw second-placed Aztecs get up over fourth side Lightning 56-38.

The Aztecs have guaranteed themselves a top-two finish, giving them a second chance come finals time, while Lightning are locked into the elimination bout.

Meanwhile, the Pumas notched a fifth win for the season after getting up 45-33 over the Falcons, who remain without any points.

With just one game left before finals, Falcons will have a tough time trying to clock a win this season as they face the ladder leaders Kazuals. Pumas and Aztecs clash in the early game next Tuesday.

The reserves competition saw Lightning get up over Aztecs White 43-37 but Falcons forfeited against the Pumas.

It was a close clash between in the senior two comp, with top side Kazuals White getting up over third-placed Lightning Grey 38-33, Pumas Green beating Falcons 45-33 and Kazuals Purple being gifted a forfeit win against Lightning Red.

Kazuas got up over Pumas Green 45-30 in the senior three division while Falcons beat Northampton 33-24.

The senior fours bout between Pumas Blue and Kazuals was decided by a slim margin, with Kazuals going down 33-30.

While in senior fives, Kazuals Purple triumphed 50-28 against Pumas Blue and Northampton forfeited against Kazuals White.
