Main Roads expects the roundabout at the North West Coastal Highway and Hosken Street intersection to be completed by the end of the month.

The Department had expected the work to be done last Thursday, but Transport Minister Rita Saffioti advised that wet weather was causing delays in the final pavement, sealing and asphalt works.

She said subject to weather, the roundabout would be open to motorists in a month.

“Workers need to allow the gravel pavement to dry before undertaking sealing works and applying deep lift asphalt,” Ms Saffioti said. “There are also ancillary works to be completed including kerbs, footpaths, street lighting and storm water grates.”

The intersection has a 40km/h speed limit.
