Geraldton shopping centre evacuated
Stirlings Central Shopping Centre staff and patrons were evacuated and firefighters called to investigate after a fire alarm was activated earlier today.
Two crews from Geraldton Fire and Rescue Service attended the Sanford Street retail centre just after 11.30am, a Department of Fire and Emergency spokeswoman confirmed.
She described the incident as a “false alarm”.
“They had to isolate the alarm panel, and then everyone was allowed back into the shopping centre,” she said.
Firefighters left the scene about 12pm.
Stirlings Central Shopping Centre management declined to comment.
