A top-of-the-table clash will be a highlight of round 12 action in the Geraldton Softball Association as ladder leaders Suiside take on second-placed Martians.

Suiside made an early impact in men’s division one and has efficiently maintained the top spot on the ladder.

The Bulldogs, after two impressive wins against Rams and Blaze in the last weekend’s round, enter their upcoming match-up with Martians on Saturday with confidence.

Martians, led by the pitching and batting prowess of Tane Brott, should never be underestimated.

The Rams have struggled to replicate their form from the past season, missing key players throughout this season.

They will rely on the consistent pitching of Dean Pascoe, along with the experience of Dion Harrison and Paul Valenti when facing Blaze on Saturday.

In women’s division one, the Rams have been a dominant force, winning all 11 games so far and showing no signs of slowing down.

Coach Dion Harrison said the team had faith in themselves and followed through.

“We stick to our game plan; no changes in our line-up or tactics,” he said.

The Rams will face Suiside on Saturday, with the Bulldog ladies coming off a double-header win in the previous round.

Marlins will play Pi’s Panthers on Thursday, with Pi’s coach David Sutton describing each game as ‘do or die’ to get the team back on track.

Both Marlins and Pi’s have displayed inconsistent form, with some games reflecting the teams’ depth but also highlighting weaknesses on the field and at bat.

In men’s division two games, Suiside completed a double-header victory trifecta for the club with two wins last round.

The Bulldogs aim to continue their fine form against Gunduwa and Martians Black on Saturday.

Blaze, in second place, can close the gap with a win over Marlins on Wednesday.

Les Purcell’s Marlins side has struggled this season, using the time to give their new players valuable experience on the diamond.

Rams will face Martians Red in the final division two men’s game.

In women’s division two games, ladder leaders Marlins take on Pi’s Panthers on Thursday and the in-form Suiside faces Martians on Saturday afternoon.
