Suiside men’s division one team continued their unbeaten streak with a commanding 14-0 victory over Batavia Blaze in round seven of the Geraldton softball season on Friday night.

Suiside’s Liam Meharry hit a powerful shot over the fence and Cooper Jefferies pitched a shut-out for the Bulldogs.

Round eight will see Suiside face the Rams in a highly anticipated clash, with both teams nearly back to full strength. Martians and Blaze will look to revive their seasons in their upcoming match.

Rams returned to their championship-winning form on the weekend with a 9-1 win over Martians.

Paul Valenti impressed on the mound for Rams, while Dean Pascoe smashed his first home run of the season. Reece Cockburn worked hard for Martians with five strikeouts, but Rams’ aggressive style secured them the win.

Rams will next face the undefeated Suiside, while Martians hope to regroup in their match against Blaze.

In the women’s division one competition, Martians, missing their ace pitcher Tamara Kuipers, fell to the in-form Suiside ladies in a 10-4 defeat.

Suiside’s quick base running and strong teamwork kept Martians on the back foot, with Teagan Mundy contributing three singles and making three impressive catches in defence.

Round eight will see Suiside take on Marlins, while the Martians look for redemption in a match against Pi’s.

The clash between Marlins and Pi’s ended in an exciting 6-6 draw. Both teams capitalised on some solid hits despite making a few errors in the field.

Taryn and Zoe Purcell, along with Ava Gould, stood out for Marlins.

Next week, Marlins will take on the Suiside ladies, while Pi’s aim to secure a win against Martians.

Men’s division two saw Marlins celebrate their first victory of the season with a commanding 20-7 win over Pi’s Panthers.

Blaze produced an equally dominant display, defeating Gunduwa 19-2. Martians Black claimed derby bragging rights with a 27-4 win over Martians Red, with Taylor Clarke smashing three home runs and pulling off a spectacular catch.

Suiside maintained their perfect record with a 24-2 win against Rams, while Blaze defeated Gunduwa 19-2.

In round eight, Marlins will aim to keep the momentum going against Rams Blue, while Blaze look to solidify their ladder position against Martians Red.

Other matches will see high-flyers Suiside take on Gunduwa, and Martians Black face Rams White.

In women’s division two, Pi’s Panthers impressed with an 11-6 win over Rams White and an 11-5 victory over Gunduwa.

Suiside mirrored their division one counterparts with an 11-3 victory over Martians, with Marnie Barry shining on the mound.

Marlins ended the weekend on a high with a 25-8 defeat of Rams Blue.

Next week, Rams White will play a double-header against Blaze and Marlins, while Suiside will look to extend their winning streak against Rams Blue and Martians will square off against Marlins.
