Geraldton Universities Centre celebrates the graduation of 47 bright young minds in class of 2022

Geraldton Universities Centre celebrated 47 graduates seeking to enter the workforce after their class of 2022 graduated on Friday evening at the Queens Park Theatre.

Across 12 degrees, 47 students used the centre as a support network and direct link to tertiary education from Curtin, CQ University and The University of Southern Queensland.

Nursing, education, agribusiness, masters of sexology and accounting were among some of the degrees earnt by students.

Primary education graduate Phillipa Rumble was awarded the school of education and the arts medal. The medal is awarded to the graduating student with the highest academic achievement in a bachelor’s degree. Ms Rumble graduated with a grade point average of 6.963 out of a possible seven.

“It’s transformational for our community, and toward the end of last year, GUC was recognised for just that — taking out the community centric award as part of the Australian Rural Education Awards,“ GUC chair Jody Beven said.
