Geraldton water polo round 8 preview: Battle of the top sides in A-grade as B52’s and Demons face-off

The B52’s are aiming for a return to form as they face the Demons in round eight’s top-of-the-table clash in the Geraldton Water Polo Association on Saturday. Leo Prout has been in fine form for the B52’s, but even his five goals in the last game could not stop their shock loss to the Relics. The Demons have been scoring goals consistently, with Joel Cross, Ted Kerr, and Zacc Cross all stepping up in recent matches. In the other men’s A-grade division game, Rats face a Relics side who are buoyed after a well-earned victory over the B52’s in the last round. The Rats are hopeful for a full team after absences in the previous game, which saw them soundly defeated by the Demons. In A-grade women’s, the Demons will be quietly confident as they take on the Rats, following their first victory over the B52’s in their last encounter. India Newman and the McDonald sisters have impressed so far for the Demons and will need to remain in top form to challenge the B52’s for the top spot. The Rats are next in the firing line, with the bottom-placed side having mixed fortunes this season. In B-grade men’s games, the Rats face the Demons on Friday evening, with the Demons coming off an impressive win over the B52’s in the last round. The Relics go up against the B52’s earlier on Friday afternoon. The Relics are still yet to grab a win and the B52’s sit comfortably on top of the ladder. In women’s B-grade, the Rats go against the Demons on Friday evening, and the Serpents take on the B52’s on Saturday afternoon. In men’s C-grade games, the Demons take on the B52’s and play their second game against the Rats, while the women’s C-grade has Demons Yellow facing Serpents Green, Demons Black against Rats Orange and the Rats Black up against the B52’s.
