Geraldton has received more rain in the first two weeks of June this year than for all of June last year.

Farmers have had good reason to celebrate as nearly 45mm was recorded at the Bureau of Meteorology’s Geraldton Airport office up until 9am on Tuesday.

That’s more rain than Geraldton received in the first five months of this year.

The biggest recorded falls were 13.2mm on June 7, 8.2mm on June 5 and 7.2mm last Sunday.

And more is expected in the next seven days.

The bureau has forecast an 80 per cent chance of between 5mm and 15mm next Monday and a 60 per cent chance of between 2mm and 8mm next Sunday.

Mean recorded rainfall for Geraldton in June is 97.2mm, since 1941.
