Mullewa has defended their title and gone back-to-back in the colts with their grand final win over Northampton.

A tight game early was cracked open by the Saints in the second half as they took home the 11.16 (82) to 8.1 (49) win.

The Rams kept it competitive early, remaining within striking distance of the Saints with four points the difference at quarter-time.

In the second quarter was when the Saints started the separate themselves, adding 3.4 to the scoreboard while keeping Northampton to one major.

They continued to pile on the score coming out the half-time break. The fourth quarter saw the Rams get some momentum, but it came too late as the Saints held on for the win.

It is the second straight flag for Mullewa, following their win in last year’s decider when they beat Northampton with a slimmer eight point margin in 2023.

Kane Whitby was the match winner for Mullewa, slotting three goals in the win, while Ryan Egan and Dwayne Ryder had two each.

Saints’ Ryder was named best on ground for the match while captain Gregg Galby was the East Fremantle best player.
