GNFL honours await

Rovers will host their awards presentation tonight and it’s hard to see the Penniment-Bursill Medal going to anyone other than J.J. Clune medallist Jaimon Alone.

Chris Scott, Gabriel Parfitt and Joe Ugle are runner-up contenders. The women’s medal will surely go to Davina Whitney, while Sam Bell and Imogen Perejuan will also poll well.

Chapman Valley also close out tonight and brothers Mitchell and Jaidan Thompson should take top L.P. Cooper Medal billing.

For the women, the hot favourite has to be Kayley King, with Emma Scally, Tayah Palmer and Ellyce Wright also sure to attract votes.

Towns’ big night is tomorrow, and V.T. Clune Medal possibles are Stuart Gaby, Rohan Farris and Drew Forrester.

For the women, Olivia Bidwell is tipped, with votes for Ebony Wheatland and Keeley Svenson.

Northampton also finish up tomorrow, and the P.A. Carson Medal is between Beau Walker, Flynn Dillon and Harry Taylor.

Julia Teakle is short odds for the women’s honour — she was co-winner of the association award with King — but Tiani Teakle could surprise and Hannah Trusso will poll.

Brigades’ big night is set for October 1, with Jayden Schofield a P.G. Cooper Medal favourite after sharing league best honours.

Jack Deschamp, Hayden Johnson, Jesse Casselton and Dale Williamson have every chance in a team that had great depth.

For the women, Tenae Leitch seems a good bet, with Courtney Zappara and Eliesha Smith in there as well. No date has been received for Mullewa’s wind-up but Calvin Wall has surely done enough to win the Mourish Medal from Shane Bonney. For the women, it could be between Ronita Papertalk and Bobby Merry.

At Railways, who finish up on October 2, Clune medallist Mitch Boyle is clearly a strong chance, but Jesse Adamini and Drew Tunbridge will also poll well for the Stan Cross Medal.

The likely women’s winner is Codi Cameron, though Jasmine Johansen is also possible.
