Jurien Bay woman bailed on charges over alleged hit-and-run on partner following argument while driving

A woman from a coastal town in the Mid West has been granted bail over allegations that she ran over her partner following an argument, leaving him with serious injuries. Geraldton detectives said a 49-year-old woman was driving a black Jeep Wrangler with her partner in the passenger seat in Jurien Bay on Monday night when a verbal argument broke out. Detectives allege the woman became physical and pushed the man out of the car on Bashford Street, before accelerating away and driving over his left leg. Acting OIC Sen. Sgt Simon Harrison said the 44-year-old man was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital and treated in the intensive care unit for an ankle fracture and other injuries. It is understood a tyre allegedly went over the man, but his injuries are non-life threatening. A East Metropolitan Health Service spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday the man was stable in the state trauma unit. Jurien Bay woman Cherie Faye Poihare Morgan, 49, was charged with acts or omissions causing bodily harm and appeared in Geraldton Magistrates Court from custody on Tuesday.
