The Geraldton Netball Association grand final opponents have been decided as the Kazuals outpaced the Lightning in their preliminary final last week to set up a decider with Aztecs on Friday.

The Kazuals were heavy favourites having only lost to the Aztecs throughout the season while the Lightning were coming off an upset victory over the Pumas.

If they were to keep their dreams alive they would have to step it up a gear and were at least still in touch at the first break with the Kazuals leading 14-11.

But it was always going to be difficult for the Lightning to overcome even a small gap and the Kazuals showed their class in the second quarter to blow the gap out to 10 goals 32-22.

The Lightning couldn’t match the firepower of goal shooter Kelsie Crowe as they were outscored 18 to 12 in the third quarter as the margin grew to 16.

With the game effectively over the Kazuals still didn’t take their foot off the pedal as they piled on another 19 goals in the last to take an easy 69-47 win.

They set up a grand final with Aztecs who they have not beaten all season and are looking to go back to back and look a strong chance to go two straight seasons undefeated.
