Keryn Lee Wall: Woman accused of breaching protective bail conditions ordered not to consume alcohol on bail

A Mullewa woman who allegedly breached her protective bail conditions after assaulting her partner has been ordered not to consume alcohol so she can continue caring for her children while on bail. Keryn Lee Wall, 32, appeared in Geraldton Magistrates Court from custody on Thursday, charged with stealing, failing to leave a licensed premises, breach of bail and unlawful assault. She did not enter pleas. It is alleged she entered the Railway Hotel in Mullewa and stole three 700mL bottles of spirits and failed to leave when asked by staff. Police prosecutor Sgt Paul White said Ms Wall was granted bail on November 30 after throwing three cans of alcohol and a rock at her partner and trying to bite him on the arm. “What confidence does the court have that she won’t reoffend?” he said, opposing bail. Defence lawyer Fintan Roberts said Ms Wall had been going through a hard time and now the “dust has settled” she wanted to focus on caring for her three teenage children. Magistrate Kelly Thompson granted bail and ordered Ms Wall not consume alcohol. The matter was adjourned until January 16.
