Laughs a minute at annual Beach Party

The Queens Park Theatre foyer was packed to capacity for The Comedy Emporium’s annual Beach Party Show.

Originally planned to be held outside in the amphitheatre, severe winds forced the show indoors, which featured a stellar line-up of local, national and international comedians.

With 47 performers in their programs, The Comedy Emporium has rapidly grown in four years to become a place where comedians can receive support and feedback on their material.

“Everyone at the workshops is so supportive,” she said.

“Everyone is giving ideas to each other, giving away jokes because they don’t suit their style.

“We hear Perth comedians say you don’t get that anywhere else.

“Julian Canny (The Comedy Emporium ringleader) encourages people to get up and have a go.”
