Rovers export Liam Ryan has escaped suspension for a high bump during West Coast’s loss to St Kilda on the weekend.

In the Eagles’ disappointing 17.11 (113) to 6.5 (41) loss, Ryan was under scrutiny after bumping Saint Liam Stocker.

Following the hit, Stocker went into concussion protocol but soon after returned to the field and played out the rest of the game.

The AFL deemed that Ryan “did not elect to bump and his actions were not unreasonable.”

In the loss Ryan had a poor day on goal, kicking 0.3 with 12 disposals and four marks.

While Northampton’s Jamie Cripps was held quiet as well, with 10 disposals, six marks and a goal assist in the loss.

Over at Optus Stadium, Fremantle are humming after their 17.14 (116) to 10.6 (66) win over Melbourne on Sunday.

Despite being on the losing side, second-year defender Judd McVee has continued his hot form, being named as one of the Demons best on.

McVee clocked 20 disposals for a third straight match, finishing with 21, five marks and a clearance.

Dongara’s Jaeger O’Meara saw more time in centre-bounces and had a handy day with 21 disposals, seven marks, two tackles and four clearances.

After being down early, Carlton rallied to get up 16.11 (107) to 14.4 (88) over North Melbourne.

Chapman Valley’s Jack Carroll was brought back into the lineup for the first time since round 13 and had one of his best performances since his early season success.

The young mid had 17 disposals, two marks, two tackles and a clearance in his return to league action.

Patrick Cripps impressed like usual with 29 disposals, nine clearances, seven tackles and a goal assist, only adding to his Brownlow case.

Northampton’s Brynn Teakle booted a goal for the Kangaroos in the loss, his fifth for the season.

During Sydney’s tight 11.13 (79) to 11.11 (77) loss to Brisbane, Coorow-Latham’s Logan McDonald added one goal and took four marks at the Gabba.
