Former Geraldton PCYC worker charged with rape of teenage girl
A former Police and Community Youth Centres worker in Geraldton has been charged over the alleged rape of a teenage girl.
A WA Police spokesman said the 36-year-old Rangeway man was an employee of Geraldton PCYC at the time of the alleged incident, although the alleged offences did not occur at the centre.
Police will allege the offences happened last week.
The man is due to appear before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court on August 20 charged with two counts of aggravated sexual penetration without consent.
In a media statement issued tonight, WA PCYC confirmed a Geraldton staff member had been stood down after being charged by police.
“The safety and well being of everyone involved with our PCYC centres across WA is our utmost priority,” WA PCYC chief executive David Van Ooran said.
“Accordingly, all appropriate actions have been taken regarding this matter.”
