Man charged over jetski joyride
A Perth man has been charged with dangerous driving after taking two women on a joyride on the back of a jetski in Kalbarri – while it was attached to his car.
Police said the man left a supermarket, heading towards the foreshore yesterday about 1.30pm, towing the jetski with an 18-year-old and 20-year-old onboard.
Senior Constable Sheryl Jackamarra said with Kalbarri bustling with tourists and boaties it wasn’t long before they received complaints.
“They had a moment where they just didn’t even think what they were doing really,” she said.
“After he realised, of course, and I’m very sure he won’t be doing that again.”
Sen. Const Jackamarra encouraged drivers to consider their safety on the roads.
“Think of others as well as yourself and use the roads wisely and safely. It’s not on,” she said.
The man, aged in his 20s, will appear before Kalbarri Magistrate’s Court on July 12.
