Man steals $770 in Utakarra supermarket robbery

Police are hunting for a man who held up a Utakarra supermarket at knifepoint on Tuesday and stole $770 in cash.

Detective Senior Sergeant Levinia Hugo said the robbery happened about 6.15pm at the Findlay’s Fresh IGA X-press.

She said a Caucasian man aged between 30 and 40 years entered the store, brandished a knife and demanded cash from a checkout operator.

He fled the scene on a green Kawasaki motorcycle.
